University of Latvia invites prospective students to submit applications for studies for the Bachelor's study programs "Optometry" and Master's study programs "Physics", "Mathematics and Data Science", and "Clinical Optometry" at the University of Latvia for Autumn intake 2024/2025.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES (Two Bachelor’s Study Programs)

The objective of the Bachelor's study program "Optometry" is to prepare highly qualified and competitive vision care specialist assistants - optical, optometrist, and ophthalmologist assistants - for practical work in both private enterprises and the public sector. These specialists will be capable of collaborating with health and vision care professionals to provide high-quality vision care services, managing healthcare businesses, independently learning new approaches related to vision care in the evolving healthcare system, and ensuring a comprehensive set of knowledge, skills, and competencies. HIGHER LEVEL STUDIES (Four Master's Degree Programs)

Applications for Master's degree programs are open until July 12 this year!

You can apply for studies either electronically via https://apply.lu.lv/, or by coming in person to Riga, Jelgavas Street 3, Room 509. For any questions, please write to fmof@lu.lv.

Master's Degree Program "Physics". The competence gained after studies allows for both an academic career and integration into the job market outside research institutions. For an academic career, a logical choice is to continue studies in a PhD program in physics, astronomy, or a related field not only at the University of Latvia but also at leading universities worldwide. One can also enter the job market immediately after the master's studies, where education based on physics ensures versatile competitiveness, especially in technology-intensive fields. EU/EEA/Swiss nationals may apply for budget places (25 in total)!

Master's Degree Program "Mathematics and Data Science". The master's degree program in mathematics and data science is the leading high-level academic study program in mathematical science in Latvian universities. Its completion allows for successful competition in the international job market.

Professional Master's Degree Program "Clinical Optometry (4 semesters or 6 semesters)" is a broad-profile study program based on vision science and contemporary issues in primary eye care. The professional qualification obtained in the program meets the requirements of the profession standard "Optometrist".
